The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. With more than 47,000 lives lost each year in the U.S. and over one million worldwide, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent. Any contribution will help the work of AFSP, and all donations are 100% tax deductible.

Donating online is safe and easy! To make an online donation please search for one of the participants and then click the "Support This Participant" button on their page. Donations can only be made to individuals, but the total each participant raises goes toward our team goal.

May Last Saturday: Hike at Indiana's Mounds State Park

Mounds State Park, located off I-69 east of Anderson, features 10 unique earthworks built by prehistoric Indians known as the Adena-Hopewell people. The largest earthwork, the Great Mound, is believed to have been constructed around 160 B.C. Archaeological surveys indicate the mounds were used as gathering places for religious ceremonies, from where astronomical alignments could be viewed.

Be sure to visit our Nature Center, which includes a wildlife viewing room, animal displays, interactive games, and more. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Naturalist-led hikes and interpretive programs are offered every weekend throughout the year.
